The Road to Aquiares: Discovering the Roots of Our Roasts in Costa Rica
This bundle invites you on a sensory journey, exploring the flavor profiles of two unique coffees from the heart of coffee innovation at Aquiares Estate in Turrialba, Costa Rica.
You'll taste through two remarkable coffee varietals - Centroamericano Anaerobic Natural and Esperanza Red Honey - each with its own distinctive characteristics and exceptional cup profile.
Caramel, Grapefruit, Strawberry, Milk Chocolate
We're pleased to offer this unique and impressive microlot from Aquiares. In the cup, we find this anaerobic natural to have a silky caramel body, great aromatics of ripe fruit - apricot and strawberry, a rich milk chocolate sweetness and mouthfeel with just the right amount of bright, grapefruit acidity.
Black plum, sweet molasses, macadamia, creamy
The Esperanza variety is a relatively new F1 hybrid unique to Aquiares Estate. Originally identified as L04A05 when it was developed, producer Diego Robelo chose the name Esperanza, which translates to 'Hope' in English, to indicate the hope that experimental varieties like this offer for the future of coffee farming in a changing climate.
